Digital SPDIF connections
1 For recording and playing, connect coaxial cables from
the CD-Recorder to digital equipment based on the dia-
gram below:

2 For DUAL-Mode playback (See page 17), connect cable 8
between the DIGITAL CD OUTPUT-socket on the CD-Re-
corder and the DIGITAL INPUT-socket of DIGTAL DE-
VICE.
- DUAL-Mode playback is the function that the deck 1
and the deck 2 on this CD-Recorder can play the songs
separately at the same time.
Note:
You can also connect the LOOP OUT socket on this CD-Re-
corder to the input sockets of DIGTAL DEVICE when DIGITAL
(SPDIF) IN is used.
Digital Optical connections
1 For recording, connect the fiber-optic cable from the
CD-Recorder to a digital device based on the diagram
below.

Note:
Before connecting the cables, remove the dust caps from the
digital optical connections. We recommend that you save the
caps.
DIGITAL INPUT DEVICE
Digital cascade connections
1 For cascade recording, connect a CD player from the dig-
ital out socket to CDR DIGITAL IN socket on the CDR500
recorder using able 0.
2 Connect the CDR500 recorder from CDR DIGITAL LOOP
OUT socket to CDR DIGITAL IN socket on another
CDR500 recorder using cable !.
3 Connect the CDR500 recorder using the cable @ in the
same way. Cascade connections of this CD-Recorder
are possible up to 5 stages.

Note:
Cascade connection is useful when you make a several copies
from an original source since the being the recording signal is
directly go through LOOP OUT from INPUT on this CD-Re-
corder. Cascade connections of this CD-Recorder are possible
up to 5 stages.
