HDMI control functions

The HDMI connection not only transmits video and audio but also

convey information between the connected devices. The HDMI

control function conveys control signals between the devices to

enable them to link with each other. This is a useful function. For

example, when you perform a power-related operation on one device,

then the corresponding power operation is also performed on other

devices connected with that device.

n Operations possible by HDMI control

•Turning off the TV’s power turns the unit’s power to standby.

•Operating the unit via the TV’s remote control.

(When the TV’s remote control has player operation buttons)

n Setting procedure

From “HDMI AMP On” or “HDMI MONITOR

On”, select the HDMI output connector for which

you want to enable the HDMI control function.

SETUP menu “System” – “HDMI Control” (vpage39).

•You cannot enable the HDMI control function for both HDMI

outputs simultaneously. It is selectable.

Turn on all devices that are connected to the HDMI

output connector set in step 1.

Set the HDMI control function for all devices

connected by HDMI cable.

•Please consult the operating instructions for the connected devices

to check the settings.

•Carry out steps 2 and 3 should any of the devices be unplugged.

To ensure that the unit’s HDMI video output is

projected on the TV screen, change the input function

of the TV and AV receiver.

When you turn the TV’s power to standby, check

that the power of the unit and AV receiver also goes

on standby.

If the HDMI control function does not operate properly, check the

following points.

•Is the TV or AV receiver compatible with the HDMI control function?

•Are the HDMI control function settings of all equipment correct?

(Step 3)

•After setting, did you add another HDMI device connection or make

any changes in the connections? If so make the settings again.

•Is HDMI control enabled output correct assignment?

•Is the unit in Energy Saving Standby?

NOTE

•Some functions may not operate depending on the connected TV

or AV receiver. Check the owner’s manual of each device for details

beforehand.

•When “HDMI Power Off Control” (vpage 39) is set to “Off”,

the unit does not go to standby even if the connected device is in

the standby mode.
